Things to do in Lapland
Nine activities, each with what it costs from the operators’ own pages, how long it takes and the age rules that decide whether your party can do it. A husky ride starts around 63 EUR, a reindeer sleigh ride around 30 EUR, a snowmobile safari around 97 EUR and a guided aurora night around 70 EUR.

Out on the snow
The four activities almost every Lapland package includes, and the rules that decide who can do them.
Husky safari
From about 63 EUR for a short ride to around 290 EUR for a half day. Driving your own sled needs someone aged 17 or over.
Reindeer sleigh rides
From about 30 EUR for a short ride in Rovaniemi. Slow, quiet, and the one that suits the youngest children.
Snowmobile safari
From about 97 EUR for an hour. Driving needs a licence valid in Finland and an age of 18; a passenger must be at least 140 cm.
Skiing
Downhill and cross-country at the fell resorts, with each resort’s own slopes, season dates and lift pass prices.
The night sky
Neither of these changes your odds of seeing anything. Read the Northern Lights guide before you book either one.
Northern Lights tours
An evening of 3 to 8 hours, from 69 EUR a person on the Rovaniemi tourist board’s listing on 24 September 2026, with a guide who drives to a gap in the cloud.
Glass igloos
A heated room with a glass roof, from 239 EUR a night at the lowest rate any operator publishes. From the bed you see whatever the sky is doing, cloud included.
Sleeping in the cold on purpose
Ice and snow hotels
A night in a snow room, what it costs, and why many people settle for a day visit.
Heat, and a hole in the ice
The slow end of the list. A Finnish sauna, and a line dropped through the ice of a frozen lake.
Finnish sauna
What happens in a Finnish sauna and the etiquette, then public saunas and ice swimming in Lapland, with prices from the operators’ own pages.
Ice fishing
When the ice season runs, what a guided trip includes and costs from the operators’ own pages, the minimum ages, and the permit rules.
What we will not tell you
We do not rank operators or take payment for placement, and no page here recommends a particular company. Each one sets out what the operators publish (price, duration, minimum age) and the questions to put to them before you pay, including about the animals where there are animals.
Every price these pages print is also in one file, lapland-activity-prices.csv, with the operator’s page and the date we checked it, free to reuse under the terms on using our figures.
Skiing, the sauna, ice fishing and the ice hotels have their prices on their own pages.
Source: The operators’ own sites, as each activity page cites them. Checked 18 September 2026.
An activity gets a page only once an operator’s own site gives us its price, and none of these pages promises the aurora.
Who this is not for
Anyone who wants a finished week. This page lists activities. Still choosing a month? Read when to go first, because several of these only run when there is snow.
