What a place had to show us

We list a place here only if its own website names the part of Levi it stands in, and we saw its price, when it publishes one, on that same page within the past month. We have not stayed at any of them, we do not rank them, and we print no star ratings: what follows is what each one says about itself, checked against its own site, not a review score. Where a place publishes no price, we say so instead of borrowing a figure from a booking site.

Centre, Kätkä, Utsuvaara or the lake

Levi’s own advice is to decide between its centre and the fells, and that decision matters more than which specific building you pick within an area. Once you look closer, “the fells” splits into at least two different trips.

In the centre, the restaurants, the shops, the ski school and the lifts are all within walking distance, which is what you want if you are not hiring a car and would like the evening’s dinner to be a walk and not a drive. Kätkä is the fell just outside that built-up centre. Levi’s own site and the operators based there both describe it as a short walk in, typically 15 minutes or so, with the slopes and cross-country trails close by, so it buys you a quieter street without costing you the walk. Utsuvaara is further out again, at around 10 km from Levi village, and it is where the highest, most private stays sit: a longer transfer, in exchange for a darker and more open sky, which is the whole point if you mean to watch for the aurora from where you sleep. Then there is the middle ground. A handful of properties, cottages by Immeljärvi among them and the larger complexes just off the centre, sit close in without being in the dense middle of it.

We did not find a property on this list that brands itself “ski-in, ski-out” specifically; the closest is a short, stated walk to the slopes from Kätkä, not a run to the door.

The six we could check

Break Sokos Hotel Levi. Its own address, Tähtitie 5, 99130 Kittilä, sits in Levi’s built-up centre. Breakfast is served at the hotel’s own Restaurant Kiisa, the guest saunas are heated daily from 17:00 to 22:00, and guests can use the gym at Levi Wellness Club. The only price its own site states when we checked was an autumn offer, not a standing rate. Treat €105 a night for two as a figure attached to that offer and that season. What a midwinter stay costs is a separate question, and the hotel does not answer it on that page.

Hullu Poro. Its own site describes it as a “family owned” hotel built around entertainment: several restaurants and bars, and its own activities, at Rakkavaarantie 5, 99130 Levi, 15 km from Kittilä. It publishes one price, and it is a package, not a plain nightly rate: its POROBEST offer starts at €246 for 3 nights in a double room, which works out to roughly €82 a night before whatever the package bundles in. This suits a group that wants the hotel itself to be part of the entertainment; it is the wrong choice if you want a quiet building to come back to after a day outside.

Hotel K5 Levi. Run by the Kassiopeia group, K5 sits in what its own site calls “Levi’s fell village,” on Kätkä, “a short walk from village amenities, ski slopes, and the outdoor trails of Kätkä Fell.” It has 35 hotel rooms and 16 villa apartments, the villas with their own kitchens and fireplaces. One fact worth knowing before you book: the hotel itself is closed from 20 April to 8 November 2026, though the villas run year-round. No nightly price appears on the page we opened; its booking system is the only place to see one.

Levillas, Kätkänkuja 3. Also in Kätkä, this is a single, large, self-catering cottage of about 145 m², 5 bedrooms and 12 beds, with cleaning included in whatever the final price turns out to be. Its own page states it is a 15-minute walk to Levi’s centre. It is built for a big group travelling together, not a couple or a small family who would be paying for space they do not use. As with several places here, no rate appears on the page itself.

Immelmökit Cabins. Levi’s own site describes 17 cottages “right next to the Levi center,” set between the Kätkä and Levi fells by the lake Immeljärvi. A cottage this close in suits a family or a group who wants its own kitchen and its own space more than it suits a couple who would take a hotel’s daily service instead. The page gives no price, so ask directly through levi.fi before assuming a figure from elsewhere.

Golden Crown – Levin Iglut. The highest and furthest out of the six, at 340 m on Utsuvaara fell, about 10 km from Levi village and, by its own account, a 15-minute drive from Kittilä Airport. Its 27 glass igloos split into at least two tiers on the operator’s own site: a Suite Igloo, which includes breakfast, a welcome drink and what the site calls “exclusive touches,” and a Superior Igloo, described as including “breakfast and the essentials.” Neither tier’s page states a nightly price, so this is a stay to price directly with the operator, not to assume a figure for.

What we left out, and why

Lapland Hotels Sirkantähti, a centre hotel we tried to check, is not on this list: its own site returned “429 Too Many Requests” on every attempt we made this session, so we had nothing of its own to quote rather than a figure copied from elsewhere. We also left out star ratings and guest review scores entirely, because a published rule for choosing what to show you is the point of this page, not a score we did not compute ourselves. And we did not stretch the word “ski-in, ski-out” to any of these six: the closest any operator’s own page comes is a stated short walk from Kätkä, which is not the same claim.

Kittilä Airport serves all six of the places above: it is 15 km from Levi’s centre, and about a 15-minute drive from Levin Iglut on the fell. For the fuller picture on getting to Levi, see our Levi page and our flights to Lapland guide.
